FCA Warns That BitMarkets AI and BitMarkets Trading Group May Be Unauthorised

Updated: Fresh

The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a warning about BitMarkets AI / BitMarkets Trading Group, saying the firm may be providing or promoting financial services or products without permission. The warning was first published on 2 October.

The FCA says the firm is not authorised by it and may be targeting people in the UK. Its notice lists the names BitMarkets AI and BitMarkets Trading Group, together with websites including bitmarketslogin.com, bitmarkets.ai, bit-markets.com and client.bitmarketslogin.com. The regulator cautions that unauthorised firms can change contact details or use details that belong to another business or individual.

This is a regulator warning, not a finding that every website or contact listed is operating in a particular way. The FCA’s advice is to avoid dealing with the firm and to beware of scams.

Why it matters

Customers dealing with an unauthorised firm may not have access to the Financial Ombudsman Service or Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection if something goes wrong. Traders should not treat a trading brand, domain or contact number as proof of authorisation.

What to watch next

Check the FCA Warning List and Firm Checker before sending funds or opening an account. If a firm contacts you unexpectedly, use contact details from the regulator’s register rather than those provided in the approach.
