TradingView Adds Visual Candlestick Patterns to Screener
TradingView has added visual candlestick-pattern support to its Screener, allowing traders to scan markets by pattern name and see miniature pattern icons in results.
The company said pattern names now match the terminology used on charts, so a pattern found in the Screener should correspond to the same label on the chart. The new column can display multiple detected patterns for a symbol, with icons ordered by TradingView’s internal signal-strength classification.
TradingView also updated the pattern filter. Traders can choose from 44 patterns, select one or several, and set the timeframe used for pattern identification. The company said supported intervals range from one minute to one month, though intraday options require a paid plan.
The feature is designed for screening, not automated trade confirmation. TradingView notes that candlestick patterns are not trade signals on their own and work best when combined with other analysis and risk management.
Why it matters
For technical traders, the update turns the Screener into a faster first pass. Instead of opening chart after chart to look for a setup, traders can filter a market list and then inspect only the symbols that match their preferred pattern criteria.
That can be useful for equity, ETF, forex or crypto watchlists, but the output still depends on timeframe choice and should be validated on the chart before any order is placed.
What to watch next
Watch whether TradingView extends the visual pattern treatment to more screeners, alert workflows or broker-connected trading panels. Traders should also review saved screens that used older pattern names to confirm they still point to the intended setup.
