Nasdaq Names Five Additions in June 2026 Nasdaq-100 Rebalance
Nasdaq announced the June 2026 quarterly rebalance of the Nasdaq-100 Index, with changes scheduled to take effect before the market opens on 22 June. Astera Labs, CoreWeave, Nebius Group, Rocket Lab and Teradyne are set to be added to the index.
The five companies scheduled for removal are Charter Communications, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Insmed, Verisk Analytics and Zscaler. Nasdaq said the Nasdaq-100 is tracked by more than 200 investment products with over $800 billion in assets under management globally.
For traders, index rebalances matter because index funds, ETFs, derivatives desks and benchmark-aware managers may need to adjust exposures around the effective date. The news does not by itself determine long-term fundamentals for any constituent, but it can affect short-term liquidity, hedging demand and positioning in the affected stocks and related options.
Why it matters
Nasdaq-100 membership changes can concentrate flows in a narrow window, especially for names with heavy ETF and options activity. Traders watching the affected tickers should separate rebalance-driven demand from company-specific news.
What to watch next
Watch trading volume and spreads in the added and removed names into the 22 June effective date, along with any related adjustments in Nasdaq-100-linked ETFs and index option hedges.
