XTB Makes Latest Mobile App Version Mandatory From May 11
XTB says updating to the latest version of its mobile app became mandatory from May 11, 2026 for clients using older supported builds. In its help-centre notice, the broker says users on Android 2.145.0 and earlier and iOS 2.140.0 and earlier need to update through Google Play or the App Store to keep using the app without interruptions.
The broker frames the change as a security and performance measure rather than a feature launch. XTB says outdated software can lead to limited or no access to services, weaker performance, and a lower level of security. It also notes that some users may be unable to install the latest app if their device operating system is too old, which matters for traders who still rely on legacy phones as backup terminals.
This is a practical platform update, not a cosmetic one. For mobile-first traders, an enforced version floor can affect access to watchlists, order management, and account monitoring at short notice if updates are delayed.
Why it matters
When a broker starts hard-enforcing app versions, mobile access becomes part of operational risk. Traders who depend on app-based monitoring or trade management need to make sure their device and OS still meet support requirements.
What to watch next
Watch whether XTB applies similar minimum-version rules to web or desktop access later in the year, and whether older operating systems begin losing support entirely rather than just specific app builds.
