Counterparty

A counterparty is the other party in a financial transaction — when you buy, the counterparty is the seller, and vice versa. In retail forex, your broker or its liquidity providers act as the counterparty to your trades. Understanding who your counterparty is helps assess the risk of your trading arrangement.
